Answers to all of your pre-vacay questions ... like, "What do I do when I'm not relaxing on the dock?"
welcome to camp lucky duck
Closest Gas / Convenience
Rapid Roberts is on KK just a stone’s throw away. Turn left on KK and you’ll see it over the hill on the right. They have night crawlers.
Better Bait
We like Osage Beach Bait & Tackle. Getting minnows? Take a bucket.
Rainy Days
While we hope you get nothin’ but sunshine for your stay, check out the Entertainment list below for ideas if you find yourself facing a less than perfect forecast. Also, if you have a kid who needs a break from dock life, check out the stash of Kiwi Crate projects in the shelves behind the bar. Please help yourself to a project your kids will like!
Friendly Fire
You are welcome to use the firepit by the Red/Blue chairs. Just make sure you’re putting out the fire before you leave it. There are some smores sticks in the drawer of the aqua cabinet with the grill supplies and lighters. Please don’t use the fireplace in the living room.
Dock Dynasty
Please enjoy the slide, swing, high dive (if you dare), stand up paddle board, and tiki bar. In the boat house (with the yellow oars on the side) you’ll find an inflatable island, water toys and life jackets. Please enjoy and make sure you put ‘em back where you found ‘em. And make sure to store the wet steps up and out of the water.
Best Boating Ideas
There’s a boat launch at the end of our cove that’s technically part of the Margaritaville Resort, but nobody’s checking. Just act like you know what you’re doing. Please tie up to the side of the dock by the jet ski parking. The boat lift is off limits, but you are welcome to use the jet ski lifts.
Boat Rentals
Margaritaville’s Port of Indecision Rentals 0.5 miles
Surdyke Yamaha Marina & Boat Rental 1.6 miles (personal recommendation)
Adventure Boat Rentals (at Miller’s Landing) 2.3 miles
Kayak Questions
If you’d like to drive close by and mainly explore the two arms of our cove, try one of these two:
● Margaritaville (across our cove)
● Adventure Boat Rentals (end of our cove) SUPs only – kayaks at Sunset Beach location
Both are a few minutes drive away. A bonus: you can paddleboard back to our dock from either.
Downside: The main channel on the weekends outside the cove will be very choppy. If you’re looking for someplace to drive and explore a different section of the lake, check out these guys:
According to Google, this will take you 28 min to drive there (through Camdenton) Bonus: It will be a beautiful, secluded area to kayak.
